After losing our golden retriever of 11 years, our family truly felt the absence of having a dog in our home. When we were ready to open our hearts again, we found Rundle Mountain Retrievers through a recommendation from Jill’s mentor—and we are so grateful we did.
From the very beginning, it was clear how much care, intention, and passion Jill puts into her puppies. We live about eight hours away from Cochrane, yet we felt completely connected throughout the entire process. Jill shares almost daily updates on social media—videos, weights, milestones—and even documents the journey from conception through pregnancy to birth. Watching the full process unfold was incredible and something we had never experienced before.
At pickup, we were given a comprehensive binder that truly covers everything—genealogy, vet visits, feeding schedules, care instructions, and so much more. It’s essentially a “what-to-do” manual for new puppy parents, and we still refer to it regularly for food amounts, schedules, and appropriate treats.
One of the most impressive parts of the experience was the personality testing. Jill thoughtfully observes and videos each puppy, assessing their activity level, sensitivities, and social traits. She then uses that information to carefully match each puppy with the right family. You can genuinely see how much thought goes into placing her puppies in homes where they’ll thrive.
Jill also has a thorough interview process, and it’s clear she is selective and deeply invested in where her puppies go. This is not about selling dogs—it’s about a true love for the breed and a commitment to raising well-balanced, healthy, and happy golden retrievers.
We are beyond impressed with Jill’s knowledge, communication, and dedication. The entire experience was exceptional from start to finish. Simply superb.
